Mr. Wright holds a B.Compt, FCCA (UK),FCIS (SA) and CPA (TX), he completed articles in auditing and accounting with BDO Spencer Steward in Parktown , Johannesburg in 1995. he is admitted as a fellow of ICSA and ACCA (in the UK) and is also a member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants in the United States. His career experience includes investment banking, private equity and venture capital fund management as well as development finance in the public sector. He joined the National Empowerment Fund in 2004, to assist in the roll out and implementation of its approved business plan.

Mr. Wright was later appointed Chief Financial Officer and thereafter, in 2006 as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for strategic and business planning and performance measurement of the organization. He returned to the portfolio of Chief Financial Officer in 2008. Mr. Wright was appointed to the Board of Trustees in December 2009.
