State to shake up finance agencies – Business cry out for cash

More South Africans want to start or expand their own businesses, but their dreams often come to nought when they cannot find finance. Entrepreneurs are screaming out for finance and the government has responded by pushing state-owned funding institutions to increase lending to business owners. The cabinet portfolio committee is reviewing the development institutions to improve understanding of how to sustainably grant more loans. The national treasury is co-ordinating the review of the National Empowerment Fund, Industrial Development Corporation and Khula Enterprise Finance.
